Natural hydrogen is an emerging but promising opportunity for Europe: a potential new primary energy resource within the continent. Naturally generated by the Earth, it offers a very low-carbon solution with production costs that could be highly competitive. It has the potential to become a key pillar of both the energy transition and European energy sovereignty.

This event, organised by the CNRS in collaboration with CEA, draws in part on the recent findings of its collective scientific expertise on rare earths, whilst placing them within a broader European context. It aims to foster discussion at the intersection of industrial sovereignty, transitions, and the sustainable security of supply chains
