De 08h30 à 14h30
Maison Irène & Frédéric Joliot-Curie (Rue du Trône 100 2ème étage, 1050 - BRUXELLES, Belgique)
Bringing together EU policy-makers, research organisations,
international partners and civil society representatives, this
high-level event will explore how the European Union can strengthen
the global dimension of its research and innovation policy in
support of the One Health approach. Discussions will notably focus
on the role of international research cooperation and equitable
partnerships with Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) in
addressing interconnected challenges at the nexus of health,
climate, biodiversity and sustainable development.
In the context of ongoing discussions on the next MFF, FP10, Global
Europe and the recent EU Global Health Resilience Initiative
(GHRI), the event will also provide an opportunity to reflect on
how EU research and external action instruments can better support
global health preparedness and long-term resilience. The programme
will combine policy discussions with concrete examples of flagship
international research collaborations addressing zoonotic and
vector-borne diseases, ecosystem health and climate-health
interactions.
